Concept & Technical Specification CONCEPT: You probably don’t have unlimited time and money on your hands to devote to building a kit car, so we’ve made it easier: Automobile Addiction produces component car packages that can be completed in a few weeks, and for a total investment of about $35,000. The kits come pre-assembled with a high quality paint finish, full interior, trims, chromes, and electrical wiring already installed. You get to have fun doing the final assembly, which requires basic mechanical skills and standard tools. For budget oriented people we now have several stage level kits which allow you to control your budget and built your kit as you can. Our cars are not designed from a donor car at the end of its life—we’ve engineered them from scratch, with backbone space frame chassis construction and a hand laid fiberglass body with structural reinforcement. We use the latest CAD/CAM technology, so everything looks amazing and fits together properly, and all parts needed to complete the kit are from mass production car manufacturers or aftermarket replacement parts, easily available online or at local automotive parts stores. Body Shell:
The shells of our cars are made of a single piece of composite material, which provides structural integrity and eliminates stress points found in screw or rivet assembly. Fiberglass cloth is carefully cut and hand laid over the composite to maximize structural rigidity and prevent surface spider cracks. The gel coat is sand blocked to a smooth surface finish, primed, and painted with high quality paint, before being finished with a clear coat to achieve the final high gloss. In order to reduce your final cost, we offer a selection of five standard colors: fire red, bright yellow, black, night blue and metallic silver, for the exterior paint and two colors: tan and black for the interior finish. Frame & Suspension
The Mustang II configuration front independent suspension is widely considered to be one the best suspension designs for street or track, and it is economical because it can be assembled with parts from mass production cars. The rear suspension is designed to house a standard 8.8 or 9-inch live axel. You can also order our optional, bolt-on, custom-made independent rear suspension kit that can be fitted with a Nissan 300 ZX or 350 Z differential and drive shaft assembly. Interior and Instrument Panel
The dashboard is covered with black leatherette and fitted with high quality custom-made control instrument clusters. The aluminum steering wheel is wrapped with real wood and fitted with a center horn button. The interior and custom-made seats are covered with high quality leatherette and carpet to insure elegance and durability.
Electrical System
The kit comes with the lighting and electrical wire harness system installed, except for the engine electrical harness which is specific to the engine choice and can be sourced new or used.
The engine bay is designed to accept a wide range of engines, from inline high power 4 cylinders to V8s. However, for the best performance, we recommend the following engines:
V6 Nissan 300zx or 350z V8 Ford 302 or 351 V8 GM LS1 to LS6 Other engine options are possible with engine mount & transmission brackets relocation.
